What to Expect from Your Child’s Lessons
At Rhody Little Swimmers, our goal is to teach your child the lifesaving skills they need to survive an accidental fall into the water—while building their confidence one small win at a time. Our program is customized to your child’s age, developmental stage, and progress. Here’s how the initial session works:
Daily Lessons
Duration: 10 minutes per day
Frequency: 5 days a week for 6-8 weeks
or 3 days a week for 8-10+ weeksWhy short and frequent? Young children learn best in small doses and with daily consistency—this approach creates muscle memory and builds trust quickly.
Trust + Breath Control
Building rapport with your child
Learning to hold breath underwater
Developing comfort with gentle submersions and back floating
Movement + Independence
Learning how to roll from face-down to a back float
Practicing short swims underwater to safety
Beginning full swim-float-swim sequences (depending on age and readiness)
Mastery + Real-World Scenarios
Refining survival sequences with clothes on
Simulating real-life fall-in situations
Building confidence through successful repetitions
Important Notes:
Every child progresses at their own pace. Some need more time, some less—we meet them exactly where they are.
Parents are encouraged to watch, support quietly, and celebrate the small wins.
You’ll receive daily updates and communication so you know what your child is working on and how to reinforce progress.
This is more than swim lessons—it’s a commitment to your child’s safety, independence, and resilience. You’re not just preparing them for the pool—you’re preparing them for life.
