Self-Rescue Survival Swim Lessons
Specialized swimming classes designed to teach young children essential skills for surviving in water emergencies. These lessons focus on techniques such as floating and swimming, which are vital skills for safely navigating water. The goal is to equip children with the confidence to remain calm and self-sufficient if they find themselves in a potentially dangerous situation, such as falling into water. Lessons emphasize safety from the very first lesson to the last. Breath control is always monitored closely. Survival swim lessons are a crucial component of water safety education, providing valuable skills that can save lives.
Every lesson is one-on-one and fully personalized to each child’s ability. Results are achieved using principles of physiology, psychology and sensorimotor learning. Your instructor will continuously assess your child's developmental readiness to determine skill advancement.
What will your child learn in lessons?
Rollback to float
All students learn the fundamental survival skill of rolling onto their backs to float, rest, and breathe. Infants and toddlers who are not yet walking comfortably will learn to maintain this position until help arrives. This skill is equally vital for our older students as they advance their swimming abilities.
Swim Float Swim
As toddlers and young children gain more physical skills on land, they are ready to learn more skills in the water! Survival lessons teach children to swim a short distance, rotate onto their back to a floating position, and then turn over to continue the sequence of swimming and floating until they can reach safety at the steps, side of the pool, or shoreline.
